13 Luxury Skincare Routine Staples

Quantity over quality is key for healthy glowing skin, so keep these luxe skincare routine staples in your beauty cabinet.

I’ve experimented with a dozen of different brands in my luxury skincare routine and even more products. These are the ones that have managed to remain in my skincare cabinet, because they bring about obvious results.

As a 40-something year old who looks like a 20-something (so I’m continuously told) I can assure you that good genes only get you so far. On top of a healthy diet, hydration habit, and workout regimen, these products are the finishing touch.

You will purposely only see a curated list of brands because once I find one product that works, I start experimenting with several within the brand. I adore these brands as essentials in my luxury skincare routine because of their stellar research and development.

Without further ado, here’s my edited selection of staples in my luxury skincare routine that keep my skin healthy, hydrated, and nourished. Our site does earn a small affiliate commission if you choose to indulge in any of these products.

Chanel Anti-Pollution Cleansing Oil

This silky, luxurious cleansing oil is gentle but melts away makeup, sunscreen and other impurities. Because I don’t wear a lot of makeup, I rarely have to double cleanse as this is so potent. It also leaves my skin soft, smooth and luminous.

Chantecaille Pure Rose Water

This is a lovely hydrating rosewater that is loaded with vitamin C and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. I use it in multiple ways, including to prep my skin before makeup and to give my skin a brightening boost throughout the day.

Skinceuticals Retinol Cream

Not all fine lines and wrinkles are age related. I’ve had expression lines on my forehead and under eyes since I can remember, and this potent retinol is slowly fading them away. The 0.5 middle strength is enough for me, but all three options are highly concentrated.

Creme de La Mer Moisturizer

I find La Mer to be a healing moisturizer that keeps my skin looking radiant. For me, the results justify the price. Despite being a soft and lightweight cream, it helps my skin stay plump and firm. I believe this lifted appearance is why many think I’m half my age, since as folks age their skin tends to sag (mine doesn’t at all).

Biologique Recherche Lait VIP

I tend to use this cleansing milk in the morning to gently wipe away sleep and give me a refreshed appearance. If I need to double cleanse then this is my second step after the Chanel cleansing oil. It has a soothing effect and I like how calm my skin feels after use.

Biologique Recherche Lotion P50

This is a holy grail beauty essential for any luxe skincare routine, and it’s popular for a reason. It has multiple purposes, including cleaning, toning, and exfoliating. I don’t even bother with facials, because this lotion does it all for me. I also alternate between the original and Pigm 400 formulas (which helps with hyperpigmentation). Over time the skin starts to look bright and taut.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C

Another cult favorite in my skincare routine is this vitamin C serum. The patents and body of research behind this product is fascinating so it lives up to the hype. I apply this in the morning and believe I started aging in reverse since adding it to my line up.

Chanel Le Blanc Essence Lotion

I absolutely adore this lotion. I use this in the morning right before sunscreen and it gives me the most lovely glow. My skin stays hydrated and radiant all day long when I use this and it works beautifully with makeup. I can’t go without it.

Chanel Healthy Light Creator Oil

I usually incorporate this in the fall and winter when combatting dry skin, or in the spring and summer when I want an extra dewy look. I like that it absorbs well so you do not look greasy. Instead, it gives a light luminescence.

Chanel UV Essential SPF

Chanel recently changed their SPF formula, and I prefer this version because it doesn’t leave a white cast. It absorbs very well and, like all other Chanel beauty products, helps you retain a lovely glow throughout the day.

Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant

So many beauty editors and influencers rave about this mask, and I have to vouch for it to. I use this twice a week mixed with a bit of baking soda for a full skin detox. Like BR’s Lotion p50, this is a multi-functional product. I can confirm that it extracts impurities, tightens pores, and brightens the skin.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Mask

This is my go-to mask for nourishment that I use a few times a week. I also use it overnight occasionally. The rich and creamy texture feels so good on the face, and when I rinse it off it leaves my skin super soft. If you need an infusion of moisture, add this to your collection.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir Face Mist

I’m obsessed with this face essence and keep multiple bottles in the large and travel size on hand at all times. The plant-based formula provides the most gorgeous glow. I use it before and after my minimal makeup routine to act as a primer and setting spray. You can also use to refresh makeup throughout the day. I simply don’t feel polished without it.
