Head of Public Relations & Communications - Net-a-Porter, New York

NET-A-PORTER are now seeking a talented Head of PR to lead the US communications, strategy maximizing earned media coverage and managing brand reputation.

This position requires a highly strategic PR executive who is expert in modern communications and delivering high impact results. You will serve as an internal ambassador, collaborating closely with internal teams to develop newsworthy ideas and events that strengthen brand equity. You will have experience working with senior leaders devising and managing their profile strategy working also working in close alignment with group corporate communications.

Media Relations

  • Drive awareness and enhance brand familiarity through earned media coverage, positioning NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER as the leading online destination for luxury fashion.

  • Build relationships with senior media contacts to secure impactful media coverage and foster positive word-of-mouth for the brand.

  • Collaborate with global teams to establish U.S. earned media targets, ensuring alignment with the global overarching strategies. Track progress on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

Thought Leadership

  • Elevate the profiles of our spokespeople through impactful media opportunities and thought leadership events.

  • Fully prepare spokespeople for any US media or event activities (Q&A, talking points, business facts and figures, etc.). Attend all interviews or events with spokespeople.

Event Execution

  • Collaborate closely with US Marketing Director to shape and deliver events and partnerships that support the regional customer and commercial goals.

  • Work closely with HQ teams (Global PR, Brand Campaigns, Brand Relations and Buying) and strategic brand partners to identify marketing, PR, and event strategies that drive cut through for the NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER brands, as well as our brand partners.

  • Work closely with US Client Relations teams to ensure all events opportunities are maximized for both PR and Client impact.

  • Leverage your network of influencer contacts for opportunities via our onsite content and offline events.

  • Continually research and identify opportunities for the brand in the to ensure cut through within the industry.

Team Management

  • Budget planning and management in collaboration with Global PR team

  • Provide day to day clear direction and guidance to the US PR team to ensure all strategies and plans are aligned to Global PR strategies and are focused on securing results

Key Attributes

  • Previous experience operating in Senior PR position within the luxury fashion industry

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the luxury fashion industry in the digital space

  • Significant experience managing and developing a team

  • Exceptional writing skills

  • Proven commercial experience with working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong senior media and influencer contacts

  • Proven track record of creating a positive impact on business through implementation of a PR strategy

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in digital strategy, eCommerce, or data management, preferably within the luxury, fashion, or high-end consumer brand sector.

  • Proven success in managing international eCommerce operations, driving global digital initiatives, and scaling digital businesses.

  • Expertise in eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, NetSuite), as well as digital marketing, analytics, and customer experience management tools.

  • Experience developing and executing strategic and financial plans, with a focus on increasing profitability and driving long-term business growth.

  • Strong background in managing digital marketing performance, including driving traffic, improving conversion rates, and enhancing customer retention across digital channels.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and create synergies between marketing, IT, product, and other departments.

  • Expertise in the fundamentals of retail, merchandising, sales, and operations as they relate to digital commerce.
